Hello, from the Jefferson City Public School's Robotics Team and Welcome to our site. The JCPS Robotics Team is located in Jefferson City, Missouri on Eastland Drive. We have been together for several years. We have a wonderful team made up of boys and girls from Lewis and Clark Middle School and Jefferson City High School, ranging from 7th to 10th grade. We have a wonderful Coach by the name of Jeanie Simpson, who started the B.E.S.T. program in the Jefferson City Public School District.
This Year has come to a good end. We are planning to take a trip to Florida to watch nationals. We would like to send a thanks to all our sponsors and parents who helped make this year happen. A special thanks to our coach Jeanie Simpson which is stepping down. She decided she would like to spend time with her kids and grandkids. We all understand robotics can be time consuming. We are looking for a new coach, we have a couple in mind, but they must decided to take out some of there time to come help us and make next year happen.
The B.E.S.T. Program stands for Boosting Engineering Science and Technology. The B.E.S.T program has many hubs (competition areas) around Missouri and in many other states. For more information go to the "Links" tab located at the top of this page. These sites will give you information regarding the theme for the current year and how to sign up. The program help students learn team work, responsibility and many more things.
Since we are a little robotics team and don't have many things to work with, we are always looking for sponsors and donations. We are lucky enough to have ALPLA, a plastic bottle manufacturer as a sponsor. They help us by donating tools and providing cash donations for our program and trips. We would also like to thank all who have helped us in the past with donations, supplies and helped with rides back and fourth to competitions. We had many experiences from last year that will help us this year to build a better robot and display table to compete. Please visit the "Meeting Information" tab at the top of the page to see what we talked about at each meeting throughout the year.
